Your gateway to Israel...and the world

The implementation of the ETA-IL for visa-free entry to Israel has been postponed until January 2025.
Israel is open for tourism, with the exception of the border area with Gaza and Lebanon, all tourist destinations are functioning, tourists can enjoy their stay without noticing anything abnormal, well, yes, they will not have the usual queues for their visits.
Even in the midst of the complicated regional situation, Israel is one of the five safest countries in the world for travellers, according to a renowned ranking prepared by a US company.
The 50 countries included in the study, said the report by The Swiftest, a US-based insurance analytics research firm, were selected based on their popularity among tourists.
To determine the world's most dangerous places for travellers, the company's experts considered seven different factors for the rankings, starting with homicide and traffic fatalities.
The other five values, taken from sources such as the United Nations and the World Bank, are deaths from poisoning and poor hygiene, years lost to communicable diseases and injuries, and a global disaster indicator.
With those numbers and statistics in hand, the report ranked Singapore as the safest country in the world, followed by Denmark and the Netherlands. Then came Switzerland and Israel, in that order.
‘Surrounded by a drumbeat of negative news’ about the country, The Swiftest survey is “a stunning surprise,” said Israeli daily The Jerusalem Post commenting on the report.
