Basic tips TO TRAVEL TO Bosnia-Herzegovina

 

What to bring in the suitcase

 

  1.         The border authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina allow Spanish citizens traveling with ID or passport to enter without a visa, for a stay of up to 90 days
  2.         Plane tickets and photo identification.
  3.         Travel documents and health insurance.
  4.         Over-the-counter and prescription medications in their original containers. Take note of the generic names of your medications.
  5.         Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat.
  6.         Camera, extra batteries, battery charger.
  7.         Comfortable walking shoes.
  8.         Water shoes (sandals, thongs or Crocs).
  9.         Swimsuit
  10.         Waterproof clothing: poncho and umbrella (from November to April).
  11.         Light sweater or jacket (heavier jacket in winter months).
  12.         Discreet clothing, covering the legs to below the knee, as well as the shoulders, for both sexes.
  13.         Shampoo, personal first aid kit (generally not provided in Israeli hotels).
  14.         Liquid or powder soap for hand washing.
  15.         Cell phone, battery charger.
  16.         Credit card and cash.
  17.         An empty canvas bag to pack your souvenirs and gifts to take home.
  18.         Notebook or journal and pens

 

  The coin

 

The official currency is the Convertible Mark (KM). (1Km=0.51 euros). There is no black market

for currencies.

 

 Tips

 

As in the rest of the region, it is customary to tip in restaurants. Some restaurants already include 10% of the service in the bill, which is the appropriate percentage if you were satisfied with the service. Never leave a tip on the table, as it is not customary and anyone could appropriate it.

 

 Water

 

You can drink tap water in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

 

 The credit cards

 

In Bosnia there are problems as soon as you leave the tourist centers, they do not admit it in most places. Cash is recommended

 

 The Passport

The passport or DNI must be valid for more than 90 days from the scheduled departure date (it must not expire within 90 days of the scheduled departure date).

 

 Medical services

 

Before starting the trip, it is recommended to take out medical insurance that covers hospitalization expenses due to accident or sudden illness, as well as repatriation by medicalized plane.

 

It is convenient to consume products that are packaged and check the expiration date. It is recommended to avoid the consumption of raw dairy products and their derivatives.

 

Medical facilities outside of Sarajevo are often poor. It is advisable to bring with you the medicines that the traveler needs in Spain.

 

It is important to bring medical insurance.

 

 Language

 

The official languages ​​are Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian. English is relatively widespread.

You can travel throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in good security conditions, although without forgetting that it is a country in which part of its population goes through difficult economic and social circumstances.

 

On the other hand, it should be kept in mind that many areas, especially those that were the line of fire during the war, continue to be mined

 

For this reason, it is recommended not to abandon the roads and busy paths because, although most of the areas that have not yet been cleared are marked, there are still some parts of the country that are not marked.

 

 Electricity

 

 the common voltage is 230 V. The frequency is 50 Hz. The plugs and sockets are type F. Valid for C plugs
